Just dial 5-1-1 and say the name of a city or say menu.

Option 1: Get urgent reports for a city or region.

When music starts, say the name of any city
For example: for Northeast Minnesota reports
Say "Duluth" or Press D-U-L#


Option 2: Select from a menu of 5 topics

Simply say "Menu" or press 0 any time
Then, say the category you want

Menu Choices
  1. Say "Route Reports" or Press 1
    1. Then for example: for Highway 61 Reports - say "Route 61" or Press 61#
  2. Say "Regional Reports" or Press 2
  3. Say "Transit" or Press 3
  4. Say "Weather" or Press 4
  5. Say "Comment" or Press 5
    1. At the tone: Leave a message

The 511 service is provided free of charge to the public. Cell phone users will pay for normal airtime and roaming charges according to their wireless service contracts.

From the 511 Home Page select the region or nearest city to view.

It will bring you to a map similar to this:

"A" TIP: Scroll down or clik "Text Only" for detailed text listings.

"B" TABs: Select the KIND of information from the TABS above the MAP.
  1. Critical Incidents Tab shows accidents and warnings.
  2. Road Conditions Tab shows current driving conditions.
  3. Roadwork Tab shows roadwork and maintenance activities by month.
  4. All Tab shows all current info for the above 3 tabs on one map.
  5. Weather Conditions Tab shows today's weather and 7-day forecasts by city.
  6. Commercial Vehicles Tab shows permits and restrictions in force.
Additional tabs for some locations:
  1. Cameras Tab shows live views of selected roadways - updated every minute.
  2. Metro's Traffic Tab takes you to the Regional Traffic Management Center (RTMC) map.

"C" PULL-DOWN-MENUS:
  • All pages - a pull-down-menu allows you to jump to other locations.
  • Road Work Tab - future construction can be viewed by month so you can plan ahead for future events.
